Build a polished, ATS-conscious resume with live preview, job-description keyword checks, and private browser-based PDF export. No account required and your personal details stay on your device.

Your resume and job description stay in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded or saved automatically.

Import a text-based PDF, DOCX, or TXT. For LinkedIn, export your own profile as a PDF first—no LinkedIn login or connection is used. Imported layouts are approximations; review every field before exporting.

Resume readiness checks

A practical writing checklist—not a score from any employer’s ATS.

  • Valid email addressAdd a professional email so recruiters can reach you.
  • Contact route includedAdd a phone number, LinkedIn profile, or portfolio link.
  • Focused summaryAim for a concise 30–90 word profile tailored to your target role.
  • Experience with detailInclude at least one role and describe your contribution.
  • Relevant skillsList at least five specific, truthful skills relevant to the role.

  • Measurable impactWhere truthful, show scale or outcomes with numbers, percentages, time, or scope.

A high checklist score cannot predict screening results. Follow the employer’s instructions, use truthful details, and verify the exported PDF before sending.

Tip: keep your design readable and your claims verifiable. Tailor language to the role without copying requirements that do not match your actual skills.

Free Resume / CV Builder FAQ

Is this resume builder free?

Yes. You can create and preview a resume, run the local ATS-readiness checks, and export a PDF or backup file for free without creating an account.

Does the resume builder upload or save my personal information?

No. Your resume and job description are processed in the current browser tab. They are not uploaded to OptMyTool or saved automatically. Download a private JSON backup if you want to continue later.

Can I make an ATS-friendly resume?

The clean and compact templates use a straightforward, single-column structure with standard section headings and selectable text. The checklist checks common completeness and formatting signals, but no template or score can guarantee how a particular employer’s ATS will parse or rank a resume.

How does job-description keyword matching work?

Paste a job description and the tool compares meaningful words and phrases with your resume text locally in your browser. It highlights terms that appear missing so you can decide whether they genuinely reflect your experience. Do not add skills you do not have.

How do I download my resume as a PDF?

Choose Print / Save as PDF. Your browser opens its print dialog, where you can select Save as PDF. The document is formatted for printing and is not sent to a resume service.

Can I edit and reorder resume sections?

Yes. Add or remove work, education, and project entries, edit skills and certifications, and move the main resume sections up or down before exporting.

Can I import my existing resume or LinkedIn profile?

Yes. Import a text-based PDF, DOCX, or TXT file to extract its text locally and fill in editable resume fields. You can import a PDF you download from your own LinkedIn profile; this tool does not sign in to LinkedIn or connect to your account. Scanned/image-only PDFs are not supported. Imported content and layout matching are approximate, so review every field and use the extracted-text preview to catch missing details.

Can I copy my uploaded resume design exactly?

No. The builder offers Classic, Modern, Compact, Two-column, and Professional Sidebar templates, with adjustable accent color. It detects a basic one- or two-column layout and selects a close starting point, but cannot reproduce arbitrary fonts, graphics, spacing, or page layouts exactly.

Will my resume show a photo?

Only if you choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP profile photo. Without an uploaded photo, no photo is shown in the preview or printed resume. Some employers and regions prefer resumes without photos, so check the application instructions.

Can I add my own resume section headings and details?

Yes. Add custom sections with your own heading and details for languages, awards, additional skills, volunteer work, or other relevant information. In the Professional Sidebar template, choose whether each custom section appears in the right sidebar or left main column.
